Yes. A well maintained helicopter is safer from any aircraft flying. A helicopter is designed to be able to land safely through a multitude of dangers. Derazona is equipped with highly skilled and extensively trained engineers and mechanics to make sure that our helicopters always fly in its prime condition.

| Q : | Can a helicopter continues flying if the engine quits? |

Yes. By design, helicopter pilots can perform gliding flight in the unlikely event of an engine failure, by adjusting the pitch of the main rotor blades so it continues to spin (also known as autorotation) while the helicopter descends to the ground at a safe speed. This condition is not meant for continuous flight, so immediate landing is recommended of the first opportunity.

Our quoted price includes insurance coverage for the aircraft, crew, passengers, cargo, and third party liabilities. Further insurance can be arranged for your convenience.

Our Bell 412 consumes ± 430 liters of fuel per hour of flight, while our Bell 206 consumes ± 110 liters per hour of flight.

| Q : | How fast can a helicopter go? |

The normal cruising speed for the Bell 206 is 110 mph; however, it can go up to +130 mph depending on wind condition. For the Bell 412, the cruising speed is 120 knots, but may go as fast as 135 knots with favorable wind.

Basically yes, as long as there is adequate clearance for the helicopter to land. However, safety regulation requires consent from the owner of the property and local police force in order to land on non-certified landing areas. Derazona will advise you on locations appropriate for landing.

| Q : | What are the rental qualifications? |

We require payment to be done in advance for the full mission. We need to receive the payment 24 hours before the first flight as well as explanation of the mission. We receive payment in cash, bank transfers, and American Express credit card. The minimum charge is two hours per day.

There is no penalty for changes, delays and/or cancellations made more than 24 hours before the first flight. Nevertheless, if such cancellations occur less than 24 hours there will be a 25% cancellation penalty. If the cancellation happens without prior notification, the payment is deemed non-refundable.

Our helicopters have been tested and proven to operate safely under wind conditions under 30 knots. The Bell 412 can still operate under wind conditions up to 45 knots.

Yes. The helicopter is definitely more versatile than fixed-wing aircrafts.

First of all, helicopter is safer than airplanes. Given a bad weather condition, a helicopter can slow down, stop or even fly backwards. It can even auto-rotate in an unlikely case of engine failure, making sure you can still land in a safe speed.
